Catherine Miller, a Brooklyn based dance artist, received her BFA from the North Carolina School of the Arts. She has toured extensively in the companies of Shen Wei Dance Arts, Doug Varone and Dancers, Mark Dendy Dance and Theatre, Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company; performed with independent choreographers Fiona Dolenga/Hidden Arena, Jonah Bokaer/Chez Bushwick, Ze’eva Cohen & Friends, Sally Schuilling Dance, Karla Wolfangle, and has been a guest artist with the Metropolitan Opera, Opera Colorado, Minnesota Opera and the Aquila Theatre Company. Currently, she can be seen performing in “Stacks”, the collaborative project of choreographer Jonah Bokaer, poet Ann Carson and sculptor Peter Cole. Ms. Miller was an invited artist at the Yard and was a 2005 Brooklyn Community Access Television (BCAT) /Rotunda Gallery multi-media artist in residence. She was Cofounder and Director of the Pluck Project in the performance showcase’s inaugural year. Her choreography has been seen at the Yard, Purchase College, and NCSA. Ms. Miller was an Associate Director of Dance at the NC Governor’s School and is a frequent guest faculty at NCSA. In addition, she has taught master classes and set the works of Doug Varone at various institutions including 92nd Street Y, U of Maryland, Rutgers, Dancewave and regularly teaches in New York at Dance New Amsterdam.
